hero post-script

just wanted to throw in another comment on the movie 'hero', which i recommended in an earlier posting. i said that the version to watch is the chinese one with english subtitles, as opposed to the american one. in the original chinese version, if you've seen the movie, the rebel 'broken sword' scribbles 3 words in the sand: "all under heaven". in the american version, these words are translated as "our land". maybe they were trying to arouse a patriotic sentiment with this translation, i don't know, but i think it is a world apart from the original meaning....
