Almost the end of the school year

It's been a while since I last wrote in my blog. So I'll give you a little update of what I've been doing since the last time I posted:
I've been trying to spend as much time as possible with Aiyana, given that she'll be leaving home soon, going to McGill in the fall. I will miss her so much, just like I miss Sena, but I'm also so excited for both of them. I'm also happy for my parents;  it will be good for them to have Aiyana closer.

I've also been spending more time outside. One of my favorite things is to walk home from school when possible. I like quite a few things about my job, one of them being that I can walk home through this sweet woodsy area called Moss Sanctuary, where the picture above was taken.

In other news, I found out what I'll be teaching next year: aerospace engineering, AP research, and two levels of physics. I'm very happy with all this. My aerospace class this year went well and I'm proud of all of that the students have learned. Several of them are going into aerospace and possibly other engineering fields, the airforce, or interested in becoming pilots. I will spend some time over the summer improving the course further, but I'm already pretty happy with what I have from this year.
I'll also spend some significant time in the summer developing my AP research course. This is a research methods based class in which students conduct research on a topic of their choice, identity gaps in the research and propose ways in which to address those gaps. They have to write a massive paper for the AP exam and do an oral presentation/defense for the end of the year.

Finally, I've been spending time relaxing when possible by listening to music and reading. My top recommendations if you're not already familiar with them are: Smetana's Moldau, and for books: anything by Forster and Lermontov's A hero of our time.

If you're still reading this far, thank you, and best wishes until next time.

Peace
