In the shadows

To redeem:

1. To compensate for the faults or bad aspects of something;
2. (Finance) To repay a stock or bond, etc. at the maturity date.

In the shadows of our lives: during difficult times, as we face problems, challenges, darkness.
Our love shall be redeemed: The true value of our love (the love we give and receive) will be revealed.

The love we give and receive is seen fully against the backdrop of darkness in our lives.
