it snowed a lot last
saturday night. on
sunday, they were announcing a low of 18F, so ed and i spent all day pulling our vegetables out of the ground, at least the ones that would not survive being frozen, like turnips, radishes and chard. too bad we didn't have a farmer's market this past
saturday, we would've had a lot of stuff to bring; instead, there's a market coming up at the end of this week, and now with the weather change we'll have half as much if we're lucky. but i never expected to have anything at all this late in the season, so
i'm happy.
the kids were really excited about the snow, and i would've been too, but i kept thinking about the vegetables... also, i still didn't get to plant the stuff i wanted to for next spring, and now it's a lot harder to do it with all the snow on the ground, but i think
i'll try anyway today (i covered the ground i with plastic and
i'm hoping the snow will melt by mid-day so i can seed).
anyway, here are some pics of the snow:

our field, covered w snow at sunrise

the moon was still up

and these are my radishes and turnips
